Grey Group Fitness / CrossFit Takedown is the madness of Multiple Combat Veteran Coach Eric. Eric slowed his Army Career in 2014 after 17 years and found himself training contractor friends and LEO friends looking to stay one step ahead. It evolved into helping as many people achieve their physical and mental goals through an environment that bred hard work, community and a never quit mindset. Eric had been training and using CrossFit as well as Olympic lifting to reach his goals in Special Operations for years and wanted to teach as many people as he could what men better than him had taught him. Along came Grey Group Fitness and its Affiliate CrossFit TakeDown.
The concept is simple. Push harder, both physically and mentally. Move to the front and take control of your goals and life. Being Fit is different for everyone. Our bodies are different, but one thing stays the course and that’s training hard and being better than yesterday. Surround yourself with people who force you to become better and expect the best of you everyday. Nothing worth anything was achieved easily.
What is CrossFit you ask.
CrossFit is defined as performing “functional movements that are constantly varied at high intensity”. CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. The CrossFit program is designed to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. CrossFit is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of the ten recognized fitness domains.
- Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance
The CrossFit Program was developed to enhance an individuals competency at all physical tasks. Athletes are trained to perform successfully at multiple, diverse, and randomized physical challenges. This fitness is demanded of Military, Police, Fire Fighters and many sports requiring total or complete physical prowess. CrossFit has proven successful in these arenas.
Grey Group/ CrossFit Takedown programming is designed to be scaled and suitable for all ages and physical conditions. The philosophy behind the training is an all encompassing lifestyle change. Our Program is distinct in its focus on maximizing power development, cross training with multiple modalities and constant training and practice with functional movement.
